About

Why this site exists

Welcome to Signal Ledger. This site is about forex trading indicators: what they measure, where they help, and where they mislead. Indicators are tools, not predictions. We try to explain them the way an experienced trader would walk a colleague through a chart, with the detail and the caveats included.

Nothing here is a promise of profit. Trading leveraged forex carries a real risk of loss, and no indicator removes it. Treat everything on this site as education, not personal financial advice. If you're unsure whether trading suits your situation, a licensed financial professional can help.

Who this is for

This site is for traders at any stage:

  • Beginners who want to know what an indicator does before putting it on a chart.
  • Intermediate traders who have a setup and want to refine it, or work out why an indicator that looked good on one chart fails on the next.
  • Experienced traders who want a sober comparison of tools, or a checklist for testing something new.

If you're still deciding whether indicator-based trading fits you, start with Forex Trading Indicators: is it right for you?

Comparing indicators before you commit

Most indicator pages are sales pages in disguise. Our Forex Indicator Reviews & Comparisons section looks at tools by what they claim to do, what they actually display, what you can verify, and what questions to ask before you pay for or rely on anything.

Features, pricing, and terms change, so always confirm current details on the official site of any product you're considering. If a tool promises guaranteed returns or a "never-lose" system, treat that as a reason to walk away.

Learning the tools and setting them up

Before you compare products, it helps to understand the building blocks. Trend & Momentum Indicators Explained covers how moving averages, oscillators, and similar tools are calculated, what they lag on, and which market conditions break them.

If you use MetaTrader, MetaTrader Indicator Setup & Tutorials walks through installing, configuring, and troubleshooting indicators step by step. For faster timeframes, Scalping Indicators & Short-Term Strategies looks at what changes when spreads, slippage, and speed matter more than they do on a daily chart.

Testing and using indicators safely

An indicator that looks convincing on past data may behave differently live. Testing & Using Indicators Safely covers demo testing, keeping a record of your trades, sizing positions conservatively, and spotting the usual traps, such as repainting, cherry-picked screenshots, and over-optimized settings.

Risk management comes first. Only trade with money you can afford to lose.
